Making a Difference
The history of Care Connection of Cincinnati has quite a unique beginning. Bob James and Tony Izquierdo were two professionals who worked for competing infusion companies back in the late 90’s. But, as time passed, these ambitious men came to respect and admire each other, and a friendship was born. Eventually, the two found themselves working for the same company, and they bonded even more through a common idea for a business venture to start their own infusion company.

After investigating the local market and realizing infusion had a shrinking need, James and Izquierdo looked in a similar direction. They modified their idea from an infusion company into a home health care provider here in Cincinnati, now known as Care Connection of Cincinnati.

In January of 2003, Care Connection of Cincinnati opened its doors and began seeing patients in the home setting and monitoring their healthcare. With James being a registered nurse and Izquierdo an expert in marketing, the company began its first year. James handled all patient care as Izquierdo went to healthcare facilities in the area building rapport with potential referral sources. They both went through six months of being on call 24 hours a day, but at the end of that period they started to see a remarkable improvement in their patients conditions as well as an ability to support their staff financially.

Today, Care Connection of Cincinnati is in its 8th year and is now the largest independent, locally owned and operated homecare provider in the Greater Cincinnati area, along with being named to the Top 500 “HomeCare Elite” list by Home Health Line magazine. The magazine evaluated close to 7,000 agencies nationally and ranked Care Connection of Cincinnati in the top 7 percent. This honor is quite an accomplishment for such a young and growing company.

With several million people over the age of 65, homecare services are here to stay, as will James and Izquierdo through their dedication, loyal staff, and impeccable patient care and customer service.
